Others ways Of Helping our Soldiers out

Are you related to someone or know anybody who has gone to war? If you do, you will know how much it has changed them. I know someone who after the war came home a different depressed person and it’s sad. Soldiers have served their country as much as they could, it is only necessary to give them something back. Yes there are already organizations that help these brave souls in their bases as well as those who are adjusting back to the life they left to fight against terrorism but that is not enough. Like me, I want to make a difference in their lives like they have in mine. I already give assistance to said organizations but I feel that that is just helping them the easiest and most practical way possible (and a little too impersonal). What I want to do is to honor them, especially the ones who can never return to the land of the free as they have passed in the line of duty. I know I can only do so much being that I am only an average person but here is an idea. To honor them; why not make them a poem. See, I don’t have a large house nor a fat bank account. But what I have with me are my words. I would rather write too them just lift their spirits up. Of course the goods being sent are important too as it will sustain their basic needs but what they need more right now is the knowledge that we are very thankful and appreciative of what they are sacrificing , their life. They need to be reminded that they are not fighting a losing battle. That they are doing it for a cause, and for the future generation. I go online and look up if other people have thought about this and surprisingly a lot have. Different people have even put up website solely dedicated to poems meant for soldiers. They do it for the same reasons I have and it’s just amazing how much we citizens can come together in awful times like this. You don’t have to be Shakespeare to be able to write a poem. Just mean what you say and the beauty of it will just come out at them, giving them a new found strength.
