Back Pain Relief
Let’s face it; back pain can be the worst kind of pain there is. When someone has back pain, there is literally no comfortable position for him or her to find. Standing, sitting, laying down, walking around, all can be excruciating. There are times when you have to wait days even up to a week to see your physician, and in that time, finding relief is your number one priority. Sleep – Lack of sleep can contribute to back pain. When you are tired, you tend to slouch more and this puts tension on your lower back, creating more pain. Pain remedies – there are several different over the counter pain remedies that you can take for back pain relief. However, an anti-inflammatory is recommended. These can also be purchased over the counter, however it is critically important that you consult your physician before taking anything especially if you are taking any other medications. Failing to do so could result in life threatening drug interactions.
Exercise – yes, exercise. It may seem inconceivable to you that you could actually consider exercising when you are in excruciating pain. However, exercise relieves the pressure that builds up in your back and can give you the back pain relief that you need. Simple stretching exercises can loosen tense and tire muscles. Exercising does not always mean a strenuous workout, there are many different types of exercises that you can do that are low impact. By exercising, you are also strengthening your back to prevent future attacks.
Proper posture – were you told to stand up straight when you were a child? Most of us were. This is because our parents knew that slouching could cause back pain in anyone, young or old. By using proper posture, you are not allowing stress and pressure to build up on your back.
