Golden Nugget’s New Rush Tower Rooms to Open Nov. 20
Golden Nugget Las Vegas will open its $150 million Rush Tower on Nov. 20, adding nearly 500 guestrooms and suites to the property. The new tower will also include a new restaurant called Chart House Aquarium, featuring a 50,000-gallon tropical aquarium; an expanded casino; a new pool with six cabanas; and three new retail venues.
B.B. King’s Blues Club to Open This Winter at The Mirage
The King of Blues, B.B. King, will bring his popular restaurant, bar and nightlife venue, B.B. King’s Blues Club, to Las Vegas this winter. Set to open at The Mirage, the restaurant will serve the best in Creole cuisine fused with a southern comfort touch. The restaurant will also offer live music seven nights a week, complete with a stage and dance floor. The 558-seat venue will also feature four bars. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night dining.
Cabo Wabo Cantina Set to Open at Miracle Mile Shops in Early November
Rock legend Sammy Hagar will open his world-famous Cabo Wabo Cantina in early November inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The two-level, 15,000-square-foot nightclub and restaurant will replace the highly visible location previously occupied by Trader Vic’s. Offering a blend of live music and coastal Mexican fare, Cabo Wabo Cantina will feature traditional and contemporary selection inspired by Cabo San Lucas as well as a cocktail menu with a heavy emphasis on tequila.
The King’s Ransom Museum Opens at Imperial Palace
Imperial Palace Las Vegas has opened The King’s Ransom Museum, a one-of-a-kind exhibit of Elvis Presley artifacts and priceless personal treasures. This multi-million dollar collection is on display for the first time ever in Las Vegas and showcases pieces from both Elvis’ personal life and his acting and singing careers. Items include his 1977 Lincoln Continental, personal clothing items, jewelry and more. The King’s Ransom Museum is scheduled to remain at Imperial Palace until April 2010.
Garth Brooks to Perform Series of Concerts at Wynn Las Vegas
Steve Wynn and Garth Brooks have announced that Brooks will perform in the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas for a series of special engagements beginning Dec. 11. In the midst of one of the most successful careers in music history, the award-winning country music artist retired in 2001 and moved back to Oklahoma to raise his children. The announcement officially marks Brooks’ return to the stage. Tickets for the first five weekends of concerts have sold out. Future Garth Brooks concert dates will be announced soon.
Paris Las Vegas to Host 3rd Annual Beaujolais Nouveau Celebration
Paris Las Vegas has announced its 3rd Annual Beaujolais Nouveau Celebration set to kick-off at 12:01 a.m. on Nov. 19. Honoring the long tradition regulated by French law, Beaujolais Nouveau, a red wine made from Gamay grapes in the Beaujolais region of France, is released no sooner than the third Thursday of November when it is ready for consumption just six weeks after the harvest. Paris Las Vegas will host special events, tastings and unique Beaujolais Nouveau wine pairing menus at its restaurants.
Crystals at CityCenter Achieves LEED Gold Certification
Crystals, the retail and entertainment district at CityCenter, has achieved LEED Gold Core & Shell certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, making it the world’s largest retail district to receive this level of recognition. Opening in December, Crystals’ achievement marks the fourth LEED Gold certification for CityCenter; previous recipients included ARIA Resort’s hotel tower, ARIA’s convention center and theater, and Vdara Hotel & Spa. CityCenter is poised to achieve a combination of LEED Gold and Silver ratings throughout its remaining hotels, residences, dining and public spaces.
USA Sevens Rugby, Las Vegas Kick Off New Partnership
The USA Sevens Rugby tournament, which was held in San Diego last year, will move to Las Vegas for a multi-year commitment beginning with its first tournament February 13 and 14, 2010 at Sam Boyd Stadium. The annual tournament draws thousands of international fans. Rugby “sevens” consists of seven players to a team, and is a fast-paced game which features some of the world’s most elite athletes. The annual tournament is the fourth stop on the International Rugby Board World Series.
Springs Preserve Unveils Membership Program
The Springs Preserve has announced a new membership program featuring many levels and benefits. At $25 for individuals and $60 for families, the Value membership includes a membership card for unlimited admission to the museums and galleries for one full year, early entry to both the gardens and the trails, discounts at the gift shop and Springs Café and more. Donor memberships, which range from $100 to $1,000 annually, include discounted admission to select special events, access to expert guided tours, free guest passes and more. The Springs Preserve is a 180-acre national historic site that is the original oasis of Las Vegas and a beacon for a sustainable future. Located three miles from the Strip, the Preserve provides indoor and outdoor experiences that enrich, educate and entertain visitors of all ages.
Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas Announces Holiday Offerings
Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas is gearing up for the holidays with seasonal specials and events. The 10th annual Gingerbread Village, created by veteran pastry chef Jean-Luc Daul and his team, will feature 20 gingerbread creations and a giant working carousel made entirely of chocolate and sugar. The Gingerbread Village is free and open to the public in the hotel lobby from Nov. 26 — Dec. 25. Daul will also host a holiday cooking class for children ages 5 to 12 on Dec. 6. Children will work in small groups to assemble replicas of the Gingerbread Village as well as design their own Christmas cookies and ornaments. Verandah will offer special holiday prix fix menus on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

Ethel M Chocolates Creates Its Annual Chocolate Wonderland
Located adjacent to its Henderson factory, Ethel M Chocolates will transform its three-acre Botanical Cactus Garden into a Chocolate Wonderland complete with thousands of sparkling lights, opportunities to visit Santa, and appearances by local choirs on Nov. 18. Visitors can wander down the garden’s illuminated cacti pathways and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week excluding Christmas Day. The attraction is free of charge and open to the public through Jan. 1, 2010.
Aquae Sulis Spa at JW Marriott Resort to Offer Seasonal Berry Treatments
During the winter season, Aquae Sulis Spa at JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort will offer an assortment of seasonal blueberry treatments. Guests can indulge in a Blueberry Soy Sugar Scrub followed by a Blueberry Soy Slimming Wrap and relaxing massage using Blueberry Shimmer Body Lotion. Other treatments include a Berry Facial and a Berry Manicure and Pedicure. The special treatments are available Dec. 2 through March 1, 2010.
