Utah Restaurant Association Serves Deer Valley With a Golden Spoon
Deer Valley Resort and the resort’s Director of Food and Beverage, Julie Wilson, are now among the elite of the restaurant industry who have received the honor of being awarded the Utah Restaurant Association (URA) Golden Spoon Restaurateur of the Year award.
The URA has actively promoted the industry since 1943, and Wilson is the second woman in history nominated for this honor. The awards banquet took place earlier last month at the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy.
The URA awardees’ are nominated by an Awards Committee. Of Wilson, staffers at URA wrote, “She is one of the major reasons that Deer Valley has received the honor of best resort in the country, or maybe the world. Julie’s enthusiasm for ‘fine food’ and ‘fun food’ is revealed in the many amazing restaurant concepts at Deer Valley, where we know she prides herself in setting the example for her team. Julie is definitely one of the treasures of the restaurant industry.”
Wilson has been employed at Deer Valley since the ski resort first opened in 1981.
